Dissertation writing help is available to students at all stages of their dissertation from conception to final formatting. At no expense to students, the Division of Graduate Studies is sponsoring one-hour sessions with Alexa Weinstein, an experienced graduate-level academic editor and dissertation writing instructor. 14-Day Writing Challenge
Experiment with daily writing, group accountability, and productivity tracking on the NCFDD WriteNow platform. The next challenge runs from October 9 - October 22, 2023. The challenge is simple: write for at least 30 minutes every day, Monday through Friday, for two weeks. Writing refers to any scholarly activity ranging from the spark of a new idea to polishing a near-complete project (article, grant proposal, exhibit, book chapter, etc.)! The Auntie Way Writing Retreat Spring 2023
The Division of Graduate Studies is delighted to sponsor seats for a special session of The Auntie Way Writing Retreat led by Dr. Michelle Jacob, enrolled member of the Yakama Nation, Professor of Indigenous Studies and Director of the Sapsik’ʷałá (Teacher) Education Program! Dr. Jacob will lead a weekly 2-hour Zoom meeting on Tuesdays 10am-12pm of diverse and interdisciplinary scholars who will focus on each writer developing their skills and mindsets as writers using an approach that emphasizes how we each are full of kindness, fierceness, and creativity–as writers who care about our communities and peoples (and how important this is especially when diverse voices are not the dominant narrative within our institutions).
Coaching & Developmental Editing
Dr. Mike Murashige, Writing Consultant for the Center on Diversity and Community, is available to provide support to graduate students as a Writing Coach, to help, rethink, reshape, and improve writing practices; and as Developmental Editor, to aids writers with the content of their research writing and projects — whether on an article, book chapter, monograph, book proposal, grant application, or job search materials.
