Duties:
The SHL Program GE Assistant reports to the SHL Program Coordinator and SHL Program Director. Appointments are made by the RL Head in consultation with the SHL Program Coordinator and SHL Program Director. The appointment is for one Academic Year and is a rotating position without renewal. However, if the only qualified applicant submitting an application has previously held the position, they may be considered for an additional term.
Duties and Responsibilities of the SHL Program GE assistant include the following:
Primary duties:
· assist SHL Program coordinator in supervision of the Líderes Bilingües SHL Student Leadership
Program
· serve as public face of program in SHL student recruiting and retention efforts
· assist Program Coordinator in day-to-day operations of program
· serve as principal organizer of SHL events on campus, with guidance from the SHL Program
Coordinator and Director
· assist in maintaining SHL social media presence
· assists in creating promotional materials such as videos, flyers, emails announcements as well
as in maintaining the SHL list serv.
· assists in organizing the yearly Oregon Institute on SHL Education
· attends campus meetings such as Latinx strategies group
Additional duties:
· serve on SHL Committee ex-officio (does not vote)
· assist SHL Program coordinator in maintaining active outreach and marketing campaign for
SHL program on campus and in Oregon secondary schools
· assist SHL Program coordinator in communications with SHL Advisory Board members, Líderes
bilingües, and SHL faculty members
Preferred Qualifications:
•Preferred qualification:
· Student in RL or SPAN PhD programs.
Minimum qualifications:
· UO PhD student in related field
· Advanced/superior proficiency in Spanish
· SHL pedagogical training
