The Graduate Research Forum, the UO’s annual showcase of graduate scholarship, is again bringing the work of researchers across campus to public view.

Sponsored by the Division of Graduate Studies, the forum will be Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Giustina Ballroom at the Ford Alumni Center. More than 100 graduate students will share their research in the form of posters, 3-Minute Thesis presentations and panel presentations.

Participating students represent more than 45 disciplines across the university. Topics cover contemporary issues in art, management, media, science, sociology, technology and more.

“We are thrilled with the range of topics proposed for this year’s Forum,” said Paolo Daniele, director of professional development and career preparation. “It is reflective of the diversity and depth of study at the university, and we are excited to bring all the disciplines under one roof.”

A panel of judges will evaluate presenters on clarity, presentation, design and effectiveness in communication. Awards will be given to the top-ranked students in each category.

The forum was established in 2010 to provide greater interdisciplinary intellectual exchange and networking for graduate researchers on campus. Originally held in the spring, this year’s Graduate Research Forum was moved to Feb. 15 so that winners of the 3-Minute Thesis competition can go on to compete regionally and nationally if they wish.

All UO students, faculty members and staff are encouraged to attend the forum to view research and support presenters. A full list of topics and presentation times is listed on the Graduate Research Forum website.
