Use this checklist to guide supervisors in preparing for a GE, supporting them during their first week, and providing ongoing supervision.

  • ☐ Review unit's GDRS policies with GE
    • ☐ General Duties and Responsibilities Statements (GDRS) describe GE work expectations and conditions
  • ☐ Review work schedule and expectations
    • ☐ Optional: Workload Allocation Form
  • ☐ Review sick leave / absences policies
  • ☐ Review dress code / PPE use, safety & emergency protocols
  • ☐ Encourage GE to review GE insurance plans
  • ☐ Orient GE to accessibility and work accommodations resources
  • ☐ Ensure GEs promptly complete mandatory trainings
    • ☐ Title IX: non-discrimination/harassment/retaliation
    • ☐ Graduate Employment at the UO: Overview of Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines

  • ☐ Review GE progress on trainings and provide future training opportunities
  • ☐ Get feedback on how supervision is going for the GE
  • ☐ Monitor performance and conduct
