Building Community: Exploring Eugene’s Murals

Celebrate the murals of Eugene with this exhibit featuring the City of Eugene's 20x21EUG Mural Project and Urban Canvas murals. The purpose of the exhibit is to create opportunities for UO students to learn about and engage with the city of Eugene and the greater Eugene community. https://www.eugene-or.gov/4636/Murals
The Ducks in Downtown section will of the display will be photos from you, out in town seeing the wonderful art.
Send in a photo with a Eugene mural to be a part of the exhibit and a chance to win a prize pack! Email a selfie of you with a Eugene mural to mcmillangallery@uoregon.edu. The submissions will be accepted starting September 15. Prizes drawing will be Friday of week 5 and week 10. To have your picture displayed in the gallery exhibit, you must sign a model release form. more information on our instagram https://www.instagram.com/uomcmillangallery/ or email us. Only photos on display at the date of the drawing will be entered into the raffle. All are welcome to submit photos for the gallery, but only UO students are eligible to be entered into the raffle.

The LaVerne Krause Gallery presents the 2nd Year MFA Exhibition, featuring work by artists Shannon Clegg, Omar Khouri, Nikki Vasquez, and Sequoia Williams-Valenzuela.
Bringing together four distinct artistic practices, the exhibition offers a look into the developing research and studio practices of the University of Oregon’s second-year MFA candidates. On view now through October 8th.

High Drama: Japanese Prints of Theater, Heroes and History

This thematic exhibition incorporates student research from History of Art and Architecture Professor Akiko Walley’s spring 2026 Japanese print course that focused on “the dramatic,” including dynamic prints of Kabuki theaters and actors, changing expressions of human bodies, and dramatizations of historical events and legends. Featuring recent gifts by Lee and Mary Jean Michels and Irwin Lavenberg, the undergraduate and graduate students in the course examined woodblock prints of the 18th-20th centuries that showcased action and powerful emotion with compelling graphic design. The exhibition is complemented by a selection of Japanese modern and contemporary prints, paintings, textiles, decorative arts, addressing the theme of “drama,” and includes a number of recent acquisitions. This exhibition was coorganized by chief curator Anne Rose Kitagawa.
