Product Design Department’s 2nd year students designed a Portable Wireless Speaker.  Students considered different use case scenarios and associated needs for various user demographics from active outdoor lovers to café owners to office workers. They learned about injection molding manufacturing process and constraints, to satisfy technical needs of housing for the internal electrical components in their speaker design.

The Industrial Designers Society of America's (IDSA) mission is to promote the practice of industrial design through education, information, community and advocacy. Our IDSA UO student chapter is comprised of UO Product Design students, prospective Product Design students, and others who are interested in engaging in the design world. We strive to build a collective of design students, faculty, and professionals who support each other and increase the accessibility of industrial design. We facilitate connections between students and professionals to inspire design quality and responsibility through professional development and education.
