Duties:
Teaching-related work will involve assisting with the AFR 215 “Introduction to African Studies” course. In the Fall, GE’s will assist with preparing class materials, holding office hours, and grading. In the Winter, the GE will serve as instructor of record.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Admission to University of Oregon graduate program as a master's or doctoral degree-seeking student is required
2. Record of academic excellence
3. Previous teaching experience
4. Substantial background in African Studies or cognate disciplines, with a strong interdisciplinary experience
5. Cross-cultural sensitivity
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills
7. Ability to work under supervision and independently
8. AFR graduate specialization students will receive priority consideration
*PLEASE NOTE: Among applicants with the qualifications outlined above, preference will be given to CAS doctoral students, then to CAS master's students*
