In honor of the lifetime of teaching and administrative service of Professor Emerita Betty Foster McCue, this award supports doctoral students conducting dissertation research related to human development and performance.

Eligibility
- Doctoral students who have advanced to candidacy and have received committee approval to conduct dissertation research
- International students eligible
- Dissertation research must focus on the social, cultural, psychological, physical, or biological aspect(s) of human development and performance.
- Must be making satisfactory academic progress toward completion of degree requirements. Review the Division of Graduate Studies' satisfactory progress requirement.
- Must be enrolled full time at the time of award disbursement
Award Details
- $5,000 will be disbursed to student’s UO Student Billing Account in equal installments during Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Spring 2027
- Students must be enrolled full-time, pursuing a doctoral degree, and making satisfactory academic progress at the time of disbursement
- Awards cannot be deferred

Application Requirements
Applications for this award must be submitted through the UO Scholarship Dashboard. Only complete applications will be considered.
- One statement (500 words or less) directed to an audience of non-specialists that includes:
- A description of your dissertation research
- A description of the impact of your dissertation research on human development and performance
- Two recommendations completed through the UO Scholarship Dashboard by:
- Chair of your dissertation committee
- Faculty member on your dissertation committee
