Funded through the generosity of Steve Raymund, this award supports master’s and doctoral students’ participation in unpaid or undercompensated summer internships, externships, or apprenticeships that promote the application of disciplinary knowledge and skills to real-world situations.

Eligibility
- Master’s and doctoral students, regardless of immigration status or work eligibility.
- Must be making satisfactory academic progress toward completion of degree requirements. Review the Division of Graduate Studies' satisfactory progress requirement for details.
- Internships, externships, or apprenticeships must be at least four weeks, include a weekly work commitment, and be unpaid or undercompensated.
- Internship requirements by students' degree program are considered during the selection process, however, master's and doctoral students from any degree program are eligible to apply.
Award Details
- $5,000 will be disbursed to student’s UO Student Billing Account at the beginning of Summer term upon verification of fieldwork requirements.
- Students must be pursuing a UO graduate degree and making satisfactory academic progress at the time of disbursement.
- Awards cannot be deferred.

Applications for this award must be submitted through the UO Scholarship Dashboard. Only complete applications will be considered.
- One statement (150 words or less) directed to a general audience of non-specialists that describes your research
- One statement (300 words or less) directed to a general audience of non-specialists that describes the impact of your research on society
- A list of all awards, grants, scholarships, and other funding you have received while enrolled at the UO
- A list of any publications authored or co-authored while enrolled at the UO
- One recommendation completed through the UO Scholarship Dashboard
