The Division of Graduate Studies is growing our admissions and recruitment services that we offer prospective students and academic graduate programs. To help us soar to new heights, the Division is pleased to announce the hire of a new Director of Admissions, Colin Johnston. Colin will lead the development and execution of institutional graduate recruitment, admissions, and enrollment policy and operations. He is looking forward to working with stakeholders across the university to implement enrollment strategies that attract and support the most excellent graduate students from Oregon, the U.S., and around the globe.

Colin received his Bachelor of Laws (Honors) degree, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The University of Edinburgh (Scotland), as well as a Master of Education in Urban Teaching with ESL and Social Studies teaching certifications from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to the UO, Colin worked as an international admissions manager and study abroad director at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, served as a director of a non-profit, International College Options. He joins us from his most recent role as Assistant Director for Graduate Recruitment at Oregon State University’s College of Business. The breadth of Colin’s international enrollment experience, commitment to educational access, highly relational approach to working with students, staff, and faculty, and attention to equity in policy creation and operations make him the ideal person to lead the Division toward greater excellence in graduate admissions.
