Funded by the Division of Graduate Studies, this award supports doctoral and law students to offset expenses not covered by programs and directly related to their dissertation, such as writing support, books and supplies, software, research-related travel, training, professional memberships, and more.

Eligibility
- Doctoral and law students, regardless of immigration status or work eligibility, who have advanced to candidacy and have received committee approval to conduct dissertation research
- Must be making satisfactory academic progress toward completion of degree requirements at the time of consideration and disbursement. Review the Division of Graduate Studies' satisfactory progress requirement for details.
- Must be enrolled full time at the time of consideration and disbursement. Review the award details for more information.
Award Details
- Decision notices are sent out by finals week of the term in which you apply.
- Awards are disbursed or paid out to your Student Billing account in the following term. For example, if you are approved for a Winter award, the award funds will be disbursed to your Student Billing account in Spring term.
- Students must be enrolled full-time, pursuing a UO graduate degree, and making satisfactory academic progress at the time of disbursement. Summer term enrollment is not required.
- Awards cannot be deferred.
- Students may receive this award only once in their academic career.
- If you are selected for this award, certification of expenses are required in order to receive your funding. Details will be provided in your award offer.
Graduate Students with Financial Aid
Receiving this award may reduce your financial aid award. Please contact the Financial Aid Office prior to applying for this (and any other type of) support.

- Fall Opportunity: September 16-December 15
- Winter Opportunity: December 16-March 31
- Spring Opportunity: April 1-June 15
