Duties:
Seeking qualified applicants for Graduate Employee positions at .40 FTE to grade for up to 3 classes for the 2025-26 academic year (fall 2025, winter 2026, and spring 2026). Although duties may vary somewhat by the quarter, the successful candidate should be willing to assist with grading, attend classes, hold office hours, and advise students, as needed. Possible courses for which GEs may be hired are: WGS 201 Introduction to Queer Studies, WGS 221 Bodies and Power, WGS 250 Gender Literature and Culture, WGS 251 Transnational and Indigenous Feminisms, WGS 303 Women and Gender in American History, WGS 315 Feminist Theory, WGS 321 Feminist Perspectives: Identity, Race, Culture and WGS 351 Decolonial Feminisms. These courses may change based on departmental needs and offerings.
Graduate students pursuing any master’s or doctoral degree may apply.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Admission to a University of Oregon graduate program and currently in good standing.
• Substantial background in intersectional women's and gender studies.
• Record of academic excellence and/or important experience in intersectional women's and gender issues.
• Strong interdisciplinary background.
• Experience collaborating and grading preferred.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to work independently.
• Previous teaching/grading experience in WGS and/or related fields.
• Enrollment in the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies’ graduate certificate program.

o Names and contact information of two academic references, including your primary academic advisor. Letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the applicant’s advisor and address student’s progress toward degree, may be requested at a later date.
o A one-page narrative describing your approach to topics in WGS
o And, if available, teaching evaluations from any previously taught courses.
o A brief interview (via zoom) with hiring committee members
