Use this checklist to guide your onboarding journey as a Graduate Employee (GE).
☐ Pre-Arrival
- ☐ Claim your Duck ID, obtain PAC and reset it in DuckWeb, access your UO email, and set up DUO
- ☐ Review and accept your Notice of Appointment (sent via UO email)
- ☐ Confirm your arrival and first day of work details with supervisor
- ☐ Register for a minimum of 9 graduate credits
- ☐ Review Credit Limits and Full-Time Course Load policy
☐ First Day
- ☐ Meet with your supervisor to confirm completion of onboarding/payroll forms, set up direct deposit in DuckWeb, and gain workspace access (keys, door codes, etc.)
- ☐ Form I-9 (eligibility verification)
- ☐ W-4 (tax withholding)
- ☐ Direct deposit enrollment
- ☐ Emergency contact info
- ☐ Government-issued ID (for I-9 and UO ID card issuance)
- ☐ Add emergency contacts and sign up for UO Alerts
- ☐ Log into DuckWeb → Personal Information → Enter/Update Emergency Alert Phone(s)
- ☐ Visit Erb Union to get your Flock (UO ID) card
- ☐ Request work accommodations
- ☐ Contact the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access / Workplace ADA
- ☐ Sign up for a GTFF orientation meeting to discuss the GE health insurance plan
- Note: Enrollment in benefits coverage is not automatic
- ☐ Sign up for parking (optional)
- ☐ Review transportation and parking options
- ☐ Attend a Graduate Employee orientation session
