Duties:
The academic equity graduate student support specialist will work with Division leadership to assist with current and incoming graduate student programming and university initiatives. This position requires 19 hours weekly of on-campus work. GEs will work with a highly creative, collaborative, and engaged Division staff who value graduate education and care about the success and wellbeing of graduate students.
Duties include the following: (a) research and report on key academic issues impacting graduate students today (b) coordinate and maintain Promising Scholars and Future Stewards programming (c) maintain faculty research database (d) provide gradCONNECT and gradCAREERS programming support (e) assist with Division initiatives, special projects, and events (f) serve on committees related to graduate student academic and related policies (g) build and maintain strong relationships with key graduate student organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred applicant qualifications are: (a) strong research, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills (b) demonstrated competence with organization and project/task management (c) previous leadership or administrative experience (d) previous university service experience (e) strong interpersonal and networking skills (g) cultural competence and awareness (h) previous data analysis and/or feedback/survey experience and (i) demonstrated competence working well with diverse teams and communities
