Duties:

Grading and/or teaching discussion sections of large classes.  The GE will be responsible for grading 50 students (two sections of 25) in courses with sections or up to 70 students in courses without sections.  Constructive feedback is expected along with the assignment of grades.  Section instructors will work with the primary course instructor to develop lesson plans for sections.  Attendance at the main lectures is required of all History GEs.  Possible courses might include HIST 104 (ancient) World History, HIST 190 Foundations of East Asian Civilization, HIST 203 American Century, HIST 215 Food in World History, HIST 240 War in the Modern World, HIST 380 Latin America. Position is for fall 2024, with possible renewal in winter and spring 2025.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Grading experience in writing-based courses; some familiarity with the discipline of history
