Overview

The Promising Scholar Award recruits highly qualified incoming doctoral graduate students from diverse backgrounds who contribute to enhancing and advancing the academic and research excellence of the University of Oregon. Originally called the Fighting Fund Fellowship, the Promising Scholar Award has supported more than 600 outstanding graduate students since 1996.

The award includes $8,000 and supplemental programming to support recipients academic experience. It is administered by the Division of Graduate Studies in partnership with programs, schools and colleges, and the Office of the Provost to leverage our collective resources in support of our shared goals to increase the number of outstanding UO graduate students of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

Contact the Division of Graduate Studies' Director of Diversity and Inclusion for more information.
