African Studies GE

Duties:

Teaching-related work will involve assisting with the AFR 215 “Introduction to African Studies” course and course instructor, Dr. Melissa Graboyes, with preparing class materials, holding office hours, and grading. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Admission to a UO graduate program
  2. Substantial background in African Studies or cognate disciplines
  3. Record of academic excellence and/or important experience in African Studies
  4. Cross-cultural sensitivity
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  6. Ability to work under supervision and independently, especially as evidenced by success in independent research or work projects
  7. Expertise with major software packages (esp. MS Office suite) and CANVAS strongly preferred
