Traveling by Bicycle

Bicycles are also popular for commuting. Our community has more than 100 miles of bike paths and lanes, making commuting safe and convenient.

UO offers a DIY bike maintenance shop at the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) and various campus repair stations offered by the Outdoor Program.

PeaceHealth Rides is a network of bike share stations where users can pick up and drop off publicly available bicycles for one-way trips around campus and across the city for a small fee.

Parking on Campus

For students with cars, parking permits for campus parking are available through Transportation Services  for a fee. Carpool permits are offered at a lower price for students who ride together.

Safe Rides

In any community, it's smart to not walk alone at night. Walk with friends, or use one of the UO's safe rider programs:

  • Duck Rides
  • Designated Driver Shuttle
  • UO Campus Shuttle

Missed all of those? Contact UOPD at 541-346-2919 for a safety escort.

Ride-Hailing Services

Transportation Services has designated campus spots for ride-hail pickups to keep traffic through campus as safe and smooth as possible for vehicles, bikes, and pedestrians. Ride-hail companies are expected to geofence the rest of campus so drivers can only accept fares for the designated locations.
