Deadline
Applications for 2025 entry will open on January 5th 2025.
Overview
The Division of Graduate Studies provides funds to support UO faculty and staff in recruiting doctoral students. These funds aim to help graduate departments and programs meet their recruitment goals by enhancing the resources available to attract prospective, admitted students, particularly by supporting campus visits.
Award Details
These funds are reserved specifically for campus visits by prospective doctoral students who have been offered admission but have not yet accepted an offer.
Fund requests will be considered and awarded in 3 rounds on a rolling basis with the first round opening on January 5th 2025. The following rounds will open on February 15th and March 15th. Multiple applications from individual departments will be considered, but there will be an attempt to maximize the impact of the awards by distributing them across as many programs as possible.
Programs can request funding up to $1,000 per student, with a maximum of $2,000 total during the initial request periods. However, if funding is still available later in the application cycle, the Division will put out a final call for funding requests.
Award money will be distributed directly to departments/programs at the beginning of the month following the approval.
Eligibility and Criteria
Awardees must be prospective doctoral students.
Application
UO employees with "Admissions - Program Staff" access can submit a request via the applicant's Slate application record. Requests will be reviewed within three business days and you will be able to log back into Slate and view the decision on the applicant's Slate record.
