Emergency Funding

Graduate Student Assistance Fund

The Graduate Student Assistance Fund program aims to support the wellbeing of graduate students facing financial hardship due to a qualifying event.

Example Qualifying Events
1) Pregnancy
2) New Child
3) Loss of a Family Member
4) Care for a Medical Condition (of the graduate student -or- the care of a graduate student's family member)
6) Unexpected Housing Displacement
7) Childcare Expenses

Student in Crisis Fund 

If you are experiencing a financial crisis that negatively impacts your academics, you may be eligible to receive one-time financial support from the Students in Crisis Fund from the Dean of Students.

International Student Emergency Financial Aid

The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) offers limited emergency financial aid each term to currently enrolled F and J international students with unexpected, short-term financial problems.

Emergency Loans

Jesse M. Bell Graduate Loan

The Jesse M. Bell Graduate Loan is a short-term loan available to current UO graduate students.

UO Emergency Loans

Under the emergency loan program, a maximum of $300.00 may be borrowed for up to ninety days interest free with a Service charge of $8.00 per loan.

Basic Needs Program - Financial Resources

Emergency aid, financial aid, community aid, resource swaps, and more are available through the Basic Needs Program

If you are currently enrolled and facing an urgent financial situation impacting your access to stable housing, food security, or more -or- if you know you need support but are unsure on where to begin, please fill out the Basic Needs Assistance Form to request a response from the Basic Needs team.

Financial Wellness Center

A resource hub offering information, workshops, and peer advising to help students manage their money by budgeting and borrowing responsibly, understanding credit, and making informed decisions regarding their finances. One-on-one consultations and trainings are available by request.
