Overview
The Eric Englund Graduate Award provides support for graduate students studying in the field of American Literature, American History, or closely related subjects.
Award Details
- Each award is $5,000.
- Funds will be disbursed to student billing account in equal installments in Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Spring 2026.
Eligibility and Criteria
1) Must be currently enrolled Master's or Doctoral student who is completing their thesis, or dissertation.
2) Must be enrolled full time at the time of award distribution.
3) Must have a strong academic record.
4) Must be making satisfactory academic progress toward completion of degree requirements. Review the Division of Graduate Studies' satisfactory progress requirement.
Application
Applicants must apply online. The online application includes:
- A statement (no more than 600 words) directed to an audience of non-specialists, that addresses your scholarship, the aspects of American Literature, American History, or related subject that your scholarship focuses on, and the potential contributions of your work.
- 1 letter of recommendation from the designated UO faculty advisor.
- 1 letter of recommendation from another UO faculty member.
