Duties:
The UO Libraries seeks an individual to support the teaching and learning of undergraduate students enrolled in LIB 410: Humanities Research Data Management. The tasks include:
- Grading assignments• Supporting Canvas and in-class discussions and activities
- Assisting with in-class activities such as lectures and labs• Setting up and configuring Jekyll websites via GitHub Pages
- Aiding students in curating and preserving humanities-based research data
- Attending class and class preparation meetings• Holding office hours
- Troubleshooting technology
Minimum Qualifications:
- Coursework or research relevant to digital humanities, public humanities, cultural analytics, museum studies, media studies, digital history, digital art history, information science, and/or data science at the graduate or undergraduate level
- Available Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00pm - 3:50pm PT
- Demonstrated organizational ability
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skillso recommendations from academic or work supervisors may help demonstrate teaching and communication skills but are not required
- Interest and/or experience in information science and/or GLAMs (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums)
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to graduate students involved or enrolled in the following programs:
- Digital Humanities
- The New Media and Culture Certificate
- Environmental Studies
- Historic Preservation
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies
- Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management
