Purushothaman Padmanabhan

Puru is a PhD student in UO’s Lundquist College of Business. His research focuses on understanding the antecedents to innovation.

He worked for Seattle Children’s Hospital prior to joining the U of O, where he helped set up their innovation team, that has developed various solutions for pediatric needs. His experiences there, gave him perspectives in organizational workings which he will be exploring deeper through academia.

Puru aims to create a positive impact in society, by harnessing the power of innovation. He studied bioengineering in India, where he worked with labs to develop low-cost medical devices for the local population. He first experienced the impact that innovation can bring through this. His quest, ever since, has been to catalyze innovation for societal good. He hopes to achieve this through research, in the field of Management, that explores the workings of organizations of human beings – which in turn makes up society.

He is honored to have been recognized as a Raymund Fellow and takes it as a pillar of support and motivation towards his pursuits in finding better ways for society to innovate.
