Promising Scholar Bako Abigail

Meet a Promising Scholar

Abigail Bako is a 2024-2025 Promising Scholar pursuing a Ph.D. in political science. She expresses that receiving the Promising Award Scholarship deepens her passion to excel and inspire others, creating an effect of excellence and her social responsibility to future generations.

With her graduate degree, Abigail hopes to contribute to the development and implementation of effective climate policies that promote sustainable development and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

  • Women in Graduate Science »   The Women in Graduate Sciences (WGS) is a student-led organization dedicated to improving gender diversity in research. WGS collaborates with local schools and science outreach organizations to promote excitement about science in the Eugene community.
  • CMiS »   A Community for Minorities in STEM (CMiS) at the University of Oregon focuses on fostering a supportive and inclusive community for ethnic and cultural minorities in all disciplines of science, technology and mathematics.
  • Rehearsals for Life »   Rehearsals for Life is a graduate student theater troupe that uses storytelling, interactive theatre, and human connection to facilitate a space where all participants learn from one another’s ideas, perspectives, and experiences.
